Join the Philadelphia FIlm Society and co-presenter The Awesome Fest as we pay homage to the late writer and director Wes Craven during A VERY SCARY SLEEPOVER: WES CRAVEN’S HALLOWEENNIGHTMARE.

Reminding audiences why they should be scared of the dark, Wes Craven’s career began in the early 1970s with THE LAST HOUSEON THE LEFT and THE HILLS HAVE EYES. An anchor and icon ofthe contemporary horror genre, Craven is responsible for bringing serial killer Freddy Krueger to life in 1984’s A NIGHTMARE ON ELMSTREET, which has since provoked eight sequels including a remakein 2010. During the 1990s and 2000s, Craven is most remembered for unhinging audiences with SCREAM and its three sequels.

This fright-fest marathon runs from the morning of Saturday,October 31 through the wee hours of Sunday, November 1, and features seven titles from the NIGHTMARE franchise plus four otherunforgettable, unnerving classics. Scared you won’t stay awake? Ox Coffee will be in the lobby offering complimentary coffee from Stumptown Coffee Roasters to get you through the night!

TIME CHANGE - Due to the end of Daylight Savings Time, Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare will screen at 1:20AM (formerly 2:20 AM) and New Nightmare will screen at 2:55AM (formerly 3:55 AM) on November 1.
